Dear SPAD Students and Family,

Today, the administration and faculty have made the difficult decision to postpone the starting date of our school year to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are most concerned about the health and safety of our student’s and are safely managing the challenges we are facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We want to be certain that all members of our SPAD community have seen the most recent recommendations from the Korean Government about the steps that should be taken to help contain the recent cluster of outbreaks in the Seoul area. These outbreaks have warranted a Level 3 social distancing scheme. Because the countries daily new coronavirus cases rebounded to over 300 without showing signs of slowdown, we believe that the health and well being of our school community is always our top priority.

As we work together to get through this unprecedented event, I wanted to share SPAD plans for reopening.

·         August 24th to August 28th, SPAD will be closed.

·         August 31st to September 4th, SPAD will implement online learning for the first week of school.

SPAD administration will continue to follow up with students and families to share additional information about the online learning procedures and reopening procedures.

We look forward to welcoming all students, and families back to school as soon we are confident to do so. We want to be sure our students know that we are looking forward to their return and want to be sure we are caring for our community and taking all necessary steps to prevent possible spread of illness. Therefore, please let us know how we can best support your child during his or her absence.

Lastly, we thank you for being prudent and taking the extra precautionary efforts to protect the health of your family, as well as our SPAD community.

Sincerely,

Daniel Brown

Headmaster
